This is the third lighthouse at Watch Hill and it was built in 1856; It was automated in 1986. The lighthouse is owned by the United States Coast Guard and managed by the Watch Hill Lighthouse Keepers Association; The road to the lighthouse is restricted to handicapped and senior citizens. People can park in town and walk to the lighthouse. Lighthouse Road starts at 41.308567, -71.8562. The handicapped parking lot is at 41.30425, -71.858267. The tower and other buildings are not open to the public, but there is a museum for visitors which is open "on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 1-3 pm in July and August and through the week after Labor Day."
