A small brick lighthouse located in Owls Head Light State Park at Rockland Harbor on Western Penobscot Bay. The current tower was built in 1852 and is owned by the U.S. Coast Guard and managed by the American Lighthouse Foundation. The park is open to the public. The lighthouse itself is open to the public at certain hours on Wednesdays and weekends from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend. There is a 0.2 mile walk from the parking lot. The former keeper's house is now a visitors center and is open to the public year-round. Note that the lighthouse and stairs are reportedly haunted.
