There are two lighthouses at Cape Elizabeth, but the west tower was deactivated in 1924 and is now on private property. The east tower is still in active use by the U.S. Coast Guard. The original stone towers were built in 1928, but replaced by cast iron towers in 1874. The lighthouse and grounds are off limits to the public, but the towers can be seen from Two Lights Terrace, Ocean House Road, The Lobster Shack Restaurant, or Dyer Point. There is a small parking area for Dyer Point at the end of Two Lights Road (43.5647 -70.19857). Note: The lighthouses are NOT located in nearby Two Lights State Park.
