Home of Vermont's most famous historical person. Ethan Allen lived in the mid-1700s and helped bring about the state of Vermont's independence from New York. He also fought in the American Revolutionary War and helped capture Fort Ticonderoga from the British. This homestead is in a mostly undeveloped area along the Winooski River. The museum features the life of Ethan Allen and the history of Vermont. There are tours every hour. Admission $6 to $10 (as of 2019)
