Features include coastline, mountains, islands, woodlands, lakes, ponds, a 27 mile long loop road for vehicles, 150 miles of hiking trails, 45 miles of carriage roads with 16 bridges, Cadillac Mountain, Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, Echo Lake, and Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse . There are 6 visitors centers and over 3 million visitors per year. Entrance fee charged May to October; Private Vehicle: $30 valid for seven days. There is also a free shuttle bus. Beware of ticks, black flies, mosquitos, poison ivy, slippery rocks, high storm waves, wind, cold temperatures, porcupines, bears, and (rarely) moose.
