There are two unconnected areas that make up Sandisfield State Forest. The area north of Route 57 contains two lakes but has no access roads to the lakes. The area south of Route 57 is half in New Marlborough and contains York Lake which is accessed by Forest Rd. York Lake features a day use area with a boat launch ramp, a 300-foot beach for swimming, a picnic area, and a 2.2 mile trail around the lake. Note: This is Black Bear country.
